You've probably heard and danced to the style of music known as ITALO you just didn't know it.The term ‘Italo’ originated from
the
Italo Boot Mixes that featured Italian and German music created in 1983 by the  ZYX label  Call it DISCO 10 years late.
Heavy synthesized tracks, with a foreign feel ranging from 112 BPM to a heart pounding ( at the time ) 130 BPM.In 1982
Gary
Low released his first single " You are Danger" for many DJs here that was the start. 1985 - Fantasy Life releases "Over And
Over", considered to be the rarest Italo  tracks ever, if you're lucky you might find a copy for sale at $500.00 to $700.00 a copy
today. Italo was something we played to change it up from Freestyle, we all remember  Sandy Marton's " People from Ibiza"
Kristian Conde's " Dolce Vita" Ken Lazlo"s " Hey Hey Guy " almost no clubs catered specifically to this style ,it was sprinkled in
to the regular programming. But one local DJ stood out in this format. His name was Ray Noda , I worked with him at Gabriels
in the Airport Regency and in Mystique at the airport Hilton. Every week Ray showed up with a handful of records from Hinsul
Lazo "s Village Record Store on N.W. 7th street usually recomended by Richard or Hinsul himself. Ray would bring out these "
Maxi 45s" with the most unusual artwork I had ever seen on the covers, turn to me and say " Watch this" The crowd would go
crazy with every Albert One or Den Harrow record he would throw on. By today's standards the style sounds " cheesy " and
over produced but to anyone that lived this period here in Miami it conjures up memories of Houlihans on 117 ave. The
Parallel Bar and of course Casanova"s. Italo  played an important part in the development in what was to become House
Music.
